Contrary to his belief that one should never die on a Saturday night, Daniel Locke McKinnon, Jr. passed away May 12, 2012. Born on August 19, 1943, McKinnon was a lifelong Floridian, graduating from Hillsborough High School and attending University of Florida, and known in the family as self taught scholar of many subjects. He was an accomplished pipefitter, and lifelong member of Local 624 (now 123), where he also served as Business Manager from 1977-1979. He will be missed by his large family, including his two daughters, Darcy and Lindsey McKinnon; sister, Becky McKinnon; aunts, uncles and many loving cousins and friends. Always and forever, Diamond Dan. A memorial celebration will be held at the family home on Saturday, May 19, at 1:00 p.m..
