Obituary of Irene Esther Coker

COKER, Irene Esther Inman, 87, a native of Tampa, bid farewell to her family & friends as she passed on to be with her Lord, Wednesday, April 3, 2019. She was born March 27, 1932 to William Richard & Lenora Breithoff Inman in Tampa, Fla.  At age 4, her mother passed and her father married Beatrice Helen Oleson who raised her as her own. On June 8, 1951, Irene married John Rodger Coker Sr. To that union four children were born; John Jr., Terri, Beatrice and Steven. Irene is preceded in death by her husband John, parents Lenora Agnes Breithoff Inman, William Richard & Beatrice Helen Oleson Inman; daughter Terri Louise Coker and grandsons Joshua, Neil & Michael and sister Joy Inman Mills. Irene attended  Hillsborough High in Tampa. She was happiest working in her yard and tending to her many plants and flowers. She attended church regularly until her health declined in her later years. She loved animals and looked forward to spending her birthday with her siblings every year. She had no filters and said exactly what was on her mind which usually left those around her laughing. She will be missed by many. She is survived by her children, John Jr. (Laurie); Beatrice (Steve) and Steven (Kathy); her siblings, William “Billy” (Joanne), Bette Lou (Woody) and Barry (Tammy), 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and George, her beloved cockatiel. The family is making arrangements for a celebration of life at a later date. Information will be posted on Facebook and emails sent to those that we know are not on Facebook.
