Obituary of Rupal RamaKrishnan

On Sunday, November 17, 2019, Rupal Ramakrishnan, 48, of Tampa - a loving niece, cousin, colleague & friend for many, passed away at age 48.  Rupal was born on November 22, 1971 in Mumbai to C.S. Ramakrishnan & Suhasini. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Mumbai & Post-Doc, Immunology from the Virginia Commonwealth University. Rupal was a Research Scientist with H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Centre for the last nine years. There she got an opportunity to work with a fantastic bunch of colleagues & friends. She published numerous acclaimed papers related to cancer research.

Rupal (or Sonu to her family) was an effervescent soul, with a brilliant sense of humour, and wit. She would light the room with her presence and would keep everyone in splits with her one-liners and remarks (something she inherited from her father). She was a voracious reader, and would read anything and everything under the sun.

Rupal was extremely caring and helpful, the way she took care of her parents when they were undergoing cancer treatment is really inspirational. She was an example for all.

Rupal was preceded in death by her father, Ramakrishnan; and her mother, Suhasini. She is grieved by several uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 25th, 2019 at the Florida Mortuary Chapel, North Nebraska Avenue, in Tampa between the hours 10am to 12pm.
