Obituary of Dorothy S. Dew

Dorothy Stanley Dew passed away peacefully on February 21, 2020 after an unforeseen diagnosis of cancer took her suddenly. She is described by her friends as bubbly and loving, having a contagious laugh. She thrived on being around other people and lived life fiercely. Her sense of fashion and style were timeless. Dorothy, known to many as Dottie, was born in Syracuse, NY. Her family moved to Tampa, FL in 1957. After a few relocations, she and her husband David settled again in Tampa in 1976.

Dottie retired from Northwest Airlines, with 43 years of service. She later returned to the airline industry, working with Delta for an additional 10 years. She loved to travel, exploring the globe with her husband, David. She had many adventurous stories, many from one of her favorite destinations, Las Vegas, NV.

She was preceded in death by her husband David Dew, sisters Patty and Cindy Stanley and parents Harriet and Edson Stanley. Dorothy is survived by her daughter Tammi Dew, step-daughter Danielle Dew, Brother Donald Stanley (Linda), Sister Shirley Raker (Ken), along with a loving family of nieces and nephews. A private memorial service will be held.
