Obituary of John Lynn Crippen

CRIPPEN, John Lynn, 87, of Tampa, passed away January 28, 2022. John served his country proudly in the United States Air Force. He was a long time member of Florida Avenue/Oak Grove Church of God/Altar. He loved to golf and always has a story to tell. He loved his family deeply.

He was predeceased by his brother, David Crippen and is survived by; two daughters, Linda (Ron) Cox and Sandy Cress; companion, Peggy Sayland; three grandchildren, Christopher Cox (Jessica), Scott (Tera) Cox, Nathan (Christina) Cress; seven great grandchildren, Austin Cox, Conner Cox, Caleb Long, Jase Cox, Elizabeth Cox, Zoey Cress and Caleb Cress.

A viewing will be held on February 8th from 11-12pm at Alter Church, 6830 N. Habana Ave, Tampa, with a funeral service to follow at 12pm with Military Honors. He will be laid to rest at Sunset Memory Gardens in Thonotosassa. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or Altar Church.
