Obituary of Madhu Bala Sahgal Lefevre

Madhu Bala Sahgal was born in Hyderabad, India on November 16, 1948, the daughter of Bansi Lal Sahgal and Mangla Sahgal. She had a lively childhood with her brothers and sisters and though they did not have everything, they had each other. After graduating from Osmania University, where she studied chemistry and German, she traveled to study at the University of Heidelberg in Germany. There she met the love of her life, Joseph LeFevre, where they were married on July 9, 1976. Together they had two children Avatar and Alex. She loved traveling to new countries and returning to India to connect with her family and friends. After a successful career as a U.S. government civil servant, she retired with Joe to Florida. Madhu loved gardening and enjoyed spending her time with her daughters-in-law Shama and Amrit and doting on her granddaughter Naya, and she was anxiously awaiting the arrival of her grandson.
