Traina, Ernest “Doc” 95 was released from the bonds of Alzheimer’s on Sunday May 8th, 2022. His wife Sylvia by his side as he was called home.
He was a Tampa native born on February 17, 1927, in Ybor City to the late Giuseppe Berto and Marie Loryenza Traina. Ernest was the last remaining child of 12. He is survived by his wife Sylvia and four daughters Leigh, Donna, Diana and Andrea. He was blessed with 5 grandchildren. Ernest has numerous nieces and nephews that will continue to mourn the loss the Traina patriarch.
He graduated from Hillsborough High School before attending the University of Florida. He finished his education at Loyola University attaining his Doctor of Dental Surgery. He then enlisted in the United States Air Force as Captain Dr. Ernest Traina. Upon fulfilling his commitment to the USAF, he opened his private dental practice in Temple Terrace in 1959 where he remained until his retirement in 1998.
Earnest was an active member of the Temple Terrace community. This is reflected in his founding board membership of the Temple Terrace Chamber of Commerce. As a devout golfer he joined Temple Terrace Country Club and remained an active member until his passing.
