Colleen Paiano

Obituary of Colleen Greco Paiano

Colleen Greco Paiano passed away on February 5, 2023, in Tampa, Florida. Colleen was born in Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania on March 13, 1962, and was the first born daughter of the late Elizabeth Hall. Her outgoing and independent personality lit up every room she entered, leaving unforgettable impressions upon everyone she met. At 17, she left her family in Mississippi and moved to Arizona to start her life. She reconnected with her high school sweetheart Raymond and soon after they married. In 1981 and 1982, in what she called “her greatest accomplishment,” she brought into the world her two sons, Anthony and Nicholas, who were by her side in her final moments.

Colleen was an avid crafter and was always working on a project. She was an inventive cook, and loved country music, Motown, and pop-culture. She enjoyed observing the human condition via reality shows. Her advice to loved ones, and the diversity of her friendships, reflected her deep understanding of the hardships and humility of life through shared life experiences. Her sarcastic sense of humor was an infectious contrast to her positivity and warmhearted nature. She loved the quote, “a friend is someone who walks into a room when everyone else is walking out,”

Her children and grandchildren will carry on her legacy of being a fierce and loyal defender of family and friends. She is preceded in heaven by her Mother Elizabeth, brother Kevin, and survived by her devoted sister Mary, loving brother Mark and David, adoring niece Amanda, sons Anthony and Nicholas, Daughter in Law Ginny and her “rays of sunshine” grandchildren Luciano, Olive, and Hazel. And of course her constant companion Ella Bean.

“Strength of a family, like the strength of an army, is in its loyalty to each other”
