Obituary of Leonor G. Diaz

Leonor G. Diaz, 97, died on January 30, 2024 with her daughters at her side. Leonor, a life-long resident of Tampa, graduated from Jefferson High School and Florida State College for Women (Florida State University). She was an educator for the Hillsborough County Board of Public Instruction for 40 years.

Leonor was preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Emma Garcia, and her beloved husband of 50 years, Mitchell B. Diaz. She is survived by her daughters, Judith Diaz-Collier (Ivan) and Patricia Ingraham (Rick); grandchildren Jennifer Wood (Chris), Michael Collier, Katherine Moran (Jordan), David Collier; and great grandchildren Graydon, Eleanor and Beckett Wood and Jack and Teddy Moran.

Private inurnment services will be held at Centro Espanol Memorial Cemetery at a later date. Donations in Leonor’s honor can be made to Suncoast Hospice Foundation or the charity of your choice.
