Obituary of Marilyn Joyce Rodriguez

Rodriguez, Marilyn Joyce, 78, passed away November 3, 2005. She was born in Tampa & raised in Ybor City. Joyce was a devoted mother, grandmother, and homemaker. She dedicated her life to caring for all of her children through out their lives & will be greatly missed. Joyce was known for her sense of humor & creativity. She was a valuable friend & mentor to many, and improved their quality of life by always offering a sympathetic ear or a good joke. Joyce graduated from Hillsborough H.S. in 1948, & received a blue ribbon for her cartoon art work. She placed 1st in Hillsborough H.S. Spelling Bee & went on to represent the high school in the Florida SE Division & received 1st place. She worked briefly as a cartoonist for the Tampa Tribune. She was married to Augustine Rodriguez & later divorced. Joyce was preceded in death by her son, Patrick. Survivors include 3-sons, David, Daniel & Paul Rodriguez; 2-daughters, Anita Rodriguez & Adrianne Haydee Tsikuris, 10-grandchildren, Tara, Jorge, Bran, Mikie, Angie, Alicia, Cecilia, Alejandra, Brianna, & Gabrielle, and 2-great-grandchildren, Alex & Caleb. There will be a gathering & receiving of family & friends Thursday, November 9, from 6-8 P.M. at Florida Mortuary, 4601 N. Nebraska, Avenue.
