Obituary of James Dennis Allen

Sgt. 1st Class James Dennis Allen (Bubba), 48, U.S. Army, retired, went home to be with the Lord January 8, 2007. Bubba was a dedicated soldier for 20 years, both stateside and abroad. He was a 1976 graduate of Hillsborough High School. He is survived by his parents, Barney & Hope Weatherford; 3 brothers, Charles Allen, Rob Weatherford (Karen), Danny Weatherford (Karen); 3 sisters, Glenda Allen, Lisa Carson (Sam), Rhonda Reel (Michael); 2 step-sisters, Lenora Welden & Myrtle Bailey; step-brother, David; 4 children, Deanna, JJ, Kenny & Deana. Nieces, Beth, Leslie, Lauren, Lanae, Jackie, Rianna & Lindsey. Nephews, Josh, Justin, Lawton & Garrett. Special Aunts, Uncles, Cousins & many friends. Bubba enjoyed his life and throughout his military service accomplished more than most men dream of. In the mid 90's he was diagnosed with CMT, which limited the use of his arms & legs, but he met the challenge head on. Through support from his family & friends Bubba maintained a normal life considering his disability. In late December, 2006, he was diagnosed with lung & bone cancer which ultimately took his life. He left this world on Elvis's birthday, an entertainer he adored & admired throughout his life. The family thanks the doctors at the VA Hospital, for all the prayers, concern & Love shown to us. We will miss Bubba and you will always be always be in our hearts & minds. We Loved him Very Much! We will see you again in Heaven!
