Obituary of Edward Samuel Greenbaum

GREENBAUM, Edward Samuel, 88, of Tampa, passed away August 15, 2007. Edward was born September 12, 1918 in Westchester County, New York to Lawrence S. Greenbaum and Sylvia Sobel. He is survived by his daughter Lizanne Quinn of Tampa, FL; his son, Larry Greenbaum of Clearwater, FL; daughter, Linda Cacossa of Doylestown, PA; his grandchildren in Tampa, DustinStaggers, Kyle Staggers, Mallory Quinn, Alex Greenbaum, Morgan Hess Greenbaum, and many other granchildren in the northeast including, Abigail Henshaw of Philadelphia, PA; Kate Langer of Long Beach, NY, Dolaina Thomsen of Rocky Point, NY, Ryan and Chris Greenbaum of Daytona Beach, FL and several great-grandchildren, Paige & Carly Thomsen of Rocky Point, NY. He had other children including Joy Walters, Wendy Caulley, Bruce and Danny Greenbaum, and Anne Squires (deceased), and Richard Wolf, and is survived by many beloved nieces, nephews and family members. Edward had 9 children and 25 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Eddie was very well liked and had lots of friends and business associates in the Tampa St. Pete area and was a business man here for many years. He also was an avid yachtsman and spent many hours boating in his younger days on the Long Island Sound. Edward was the only son and had three sisters, who all passed. His grandfather, Samuel Greenbaum became a New York State Supreme Court Justice in 1900 and his father, Lawrence Greenbaum founded Greenbaum, Wolff & Ernst, one of New York's most prominent law firms. His sister, Lucy Freeman was a very famous author and the first female reporter for the New York Times. Edward was educated at University of Virginia and grew up in New York, where he lived most of his life. Edward loved animals, gardening and talking to people. His big grin and his sparkling blue eyes made him very likeable to those who knew him. He will be greatly missed. hn glover death datepsychology and lung cancer
