Obituary of Maria Valdes Ward

Maria V. Ward, 95 was born in Havana, Cuba and made her transition on September 16,2019. Tampa was her home since 1961, after fleeing the Communist Dictatorship of Fidel Castro, seeking a safe haven for her beloved sons. An educator, she graduated from the University of Tampa to obtain her Master's Degree at the age of 58. Maria resided with her Daughter-in-Law, Alicia Ward. An amazing, cultured, dignified, true lady. She reunites with her late beloved husband  Carlos, her son Charles, and her adoring parents in a new dimension.  Survivors include her son, William Ward, Daughter-in-Law, Alicia Ward; Granddaughters, Alyssa Ward Herbig, Kristie Ward; Great-grandchildren, Anelise, Taryn, and Cole Herbig. Special gratitude extended to Lynette Guerra, RN; Cheryl Riggins, CNA. In lieu of services, donations in memory of Maria Ward can be made to Life Path Hospice.
