Obituary of Eleanor Ruth Arroyo

Eleanor Ruth Arroyo was born on October 25, 1921 in Woodbury, Vermont to the late Galen A. and Maud E. Hatch, then adopted by Gardner and Belle (Van Ornan) Celly. She passed away on May 30, 2021. Eleanor married Warren P. Haffcke and they lived in Massachusetts until 1950, then moved to Tampa, Florida. He preceded her in death in 1965, her son, Philip M. Haffcke in 2015 and grandson Robert (Bobby) Laird in 1999. She is survived by her three daughters, Judith "Judy" Nix, husband Jimmy, Linda Williams, and Julie Chairamonte, husband Terry.   Eleanor married Juan Arroyo in 1963 and he adopted her daughter Julie. Eleanor was blessed with nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren. Eleanor loved to square dance and met her companion of twenty years there, William "Bill" Hernon who passed away in 2016. They lived in Aston Gardens where she had many friends and participated in many activates. She and Bill traveled the world together. Eleanor started a wonderful gift of painting at 70 years young,  and painted many beautiful pictures that we all enjoy. Eleanor  lived her final days in Plant City, Florida with her youngest daughter Julie who has been a blessing to all of us. Eleanor was the rock that kept our family together and she will be greatly missed by all who loved her. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society, Life Path Hospice, or a charity of your choice.
